Pablo Aponte, 96, of Framingham passed away Wed. Dec. 20th at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Puerto Rico, he has been a resident of Framingham since 1971. Mr. Aponte was the husband of the late Maria (Valle) Aponte who died in 2012. He was a supervisor at Milford Shoe Company for many years and was later called to serve as minister for the Gethsemane Pentecostal Church in Framingham for 32 years retiring in 2003.

Mr. Aponte is survived by nine children; Ramon Aponte and his wife Maria of Framingham; Nestor Aponte and his wife Lourdes of Florida; Elizabeth Aponte and her husband Reynaldo of Florida; Ruth E. Luna and her husband Francisco of Framingham; Lydia E Reyes of Florida; Iris Rodriguez and her husband Alexander of Framingham; Pablo Aponte Jr. and his wife Margarita of Taunton; Damaris Aponte and her husband Jose of Puerto Rico; and Ana E Melendez of Worcester; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother; Hipolito Aponte of Puerto Rico; and two sisters; Irma I Aponte of Puerto Rico; and Luz M Aponte of Florida.

A funeral service will be celebrated Friday Dec. 29th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours will be held Thursday Dec. 28th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
