Owen F. O'Neil, 58, of Hopkinton passed away Thursday, Jan 8th. Born in Central NJ; Owen was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Aphrodite (Angelopoulos) O'Neil and his sister, Mary Linda O'Neil. Owen is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lee Doucette, and his two children, Kailee and Owen, as well as several close cousins, family and friends. Owen grew up in Fitchburg, graduated from Fitchburg High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was a 25 year resident of Hopkinton. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14th at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 10:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714 to help cure pancreatic cancer.
