Orlando Murphy, 90, of Medway, formerly of Florida, passed away, Tues. Oct. 14th at the Milford Regional Hospital. Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Douglas and Violena (Teed) Murphy. He was the husband of the late Isabelle (Carpenter) Murphy, who died in 1976, and the late Roelene (Benham) Murphy who died in 2004. Mr. Murphy served in the Royal Canadian Air Force piloting a Supermarine Spitfire during WWII. He was a member of the China Burma India Veterans Assoc. and the Sundowners Search and Rescue Club in Florida. Mr. Murphy worked as an assembler with General Motors in Framingham for over 20 years, retiring in 1970 and moving to Florida in 1976. He moved back to Medway in 2005 to be with his family and beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Mr. Murphy is survived by two daughters; Shirley Sullivan of Framingham and Janis Osborne and her husband Malcolm of Medway, one step son, David Twardokus of Archdale, NC; ten grandchildren: Barry Sullivan and his wife Cheryl of Putnam, CT; Michael Sullivan of Honolulu, HI; Laurel Laux and her husband Cass of Mt. Carmel, MD; Jane Putnam of Natick; George "Chip" Sullivan Jr. of Framingham; Jamie Osborne of Medway, Lisa Walker of Medway, Brian Osborne and his wife Lisa of Franklin; Keith Petersen and his wife Emily of Portland, OR; and Malcolm Osborne Jr. and his wife Deirdre of Ashland, MA; 24 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Burke of Natick. He was the brother of the late Robie Murphy, Lona D'Ercole, Myrna Murphy, Isabelle "Ginger" Magazu, Lawrence Murphy, and Harvey Murphy. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home (www.mataresefuneral.com) 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
