Onellio "Bib" Betti, 80, of Framingham, passed away, Friday, April 28th, at Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home in Framingham. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Egisto and Anita (Ceccarini) Betti. He was the husband of Virginia (Polenna) Betti. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on May 4th. A life long resident of Framingham, Mr. Betti and his wife owned and operated the Village Motel in Framingham for 56 years, retiring in 2005. Mr. Betti served his country honorably with the Army during WWII as a tank commander, receiving two Bronze Stars and a Certificate of Merit. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sisters: Domenica Stefanini of Framingham and Neda Skehan of Medway; one sister-in-law, Dolores Betti of Bolton, CT; one daughter, Geraldine McCauley and her husband Skip of Glastonbury, CT; one son, David Betti of Milford; seven grandchildren; Lisa and Christopher Guccione of Holliston, Kara and Mark Lorion of Brookline, Matthew and Michael Betti of Framingham, and Ryan Betti of Milford; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Kate Guccione; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was father to the late Steven L. Betti, grandfather to the late Danielle Betti, and brother to the late John and Gino Betti. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 1st at 9:00am in St. Bridgett's Church in Framingham followed by cremation. There are no calling hours. Family and friends will gather Monday at 8:00am at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Instead of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 9 Riverside Rd, Weston, MA 02493 or to a charity of one's choice.
