Norman "Bud" Stickney, Jr, 88, of Ashland passed away Wednesday Aug. 12th after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Jinks) Stickney who died in 2004. A longtime resident of Ashland, Norman worked as an Office Technician for ATT in Framingham retiring in 1986. He recently moved to Edgartown in 2010 to be closer to family. Bud was an active participant at the Ashland Senior Center and was once elected Senior Citizen of the Year in 1998. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stickney is survived by one son, Norman Stickney III and his wife Celeste of Edgartown, MA, and their children, Michael Stickney, Sarah Stickney-Robinson, Meredith Curtis and Chad Curtis. He was the brother of the late Flo Leavitt, Adge Huff, and Lavinca Stickney. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ashland Senior Center, 162 West Union St. Ashland, MA 01721.
