Nira C. Porciello, 84 of Ashland passed away Sunday June 24th with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Valcour) Lavallee and wife of the late Eugene Porciello who died in 1995. A resident of Ashland for over 55 years, Mrs. Porciello worked as a secretary for Kimber Insurance and later for US Army Natick Labs. She is a former parishioner of St. Stephen's Church in Framingham where she was actively involved with the Religious Education Program. She was also a literacy volunteer in the Ashland Elementary Schools.

She is survived by four children; Susan Eidelman and her husband Albert of Southboro; Barbara Forcier and her former husband Michael of Ashland; Regina Porciello of Ashland; and Eugene Porciello and his wife Gabrielle of Mendon; six grandchildren; Max Eidelman; Katie and Michael Forcier; Molly Porciello; and Evan and Ethan Porciello; and her special niece, Lorraine Hopgood. She was the mother of the late Charles and George who died at birth and sister of the late Marie Rick, Barbara Nevico, and Lorraine Lavalle.

A funeral service will be held Thursday June 28th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131
