Nancy Beale Cannon, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2020, at home in the Brookdale Senior Living Center, Framingham, MA. She was born on December 15 th , 1934 and raised in Sagamore, MA.
Nancy graduated from Barrington College in 1957 and received a Master's Degree in Education from Rhode Island Collage in 1972. After graduating she worked as a social worker where she met her husband, Richard. She lived in Providence briefly then moved to Cumberland, RI in 1960 where she lived until 2004. She moved to Lincoln, RI until 2009 and then Framingham, MA.
Nancy became at teacher in 1969 and taught elementary school for 32 years at Garvin Memorial School in Cumberland, RI, retiring in 2001.
She was married in 1959 and raised 3 sons. She was an avid reader, traveler, and a lover of animals, especially the many dogs and cats she owned over the years. She loved spending time with family, especially with her 6 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Cannon of South Kingston, RI; her sons, Richard Cannon, his wife Ellen Cannon, David Cannon and his wife Ling Chu and Michael Cannon and his wife Ann Hayes; granddaughters: Eileen, Corinne, Mary-Kate, Chelsea, Aoife and Emma; and her sisters: Alice Cooper and Regina Garvin and her husband William Garvin.
A celebration of her life and burial will be held at a later date in the spring in her hometown of Sagamore.
