Mildred (Scagnelli) Nei, formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully at Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 14; she was 102 years old. She lived in Framingham, Massachusetts most of her life, moving to Eastham in 1999 with her family. She was the beloved wife of William Nei, who passed in 1972. Mildred was the mother of three daughters, Evelyn, wife of Richard Preservati and Barbara, wife of Rocco Annesi, all of Eastham; she was predeceased by her daughter Eleanor Bartolini, in 2004. Mildred was also predeceased by her three siblings, Louis Scagnelli, Pio Scagnelli and Edna Comerato. During WWII, Mildred worked at the Telechron in Ashland, MA., where she dipped bullet casings for the Army. She later held various positions in the garment industry in Framingham. She was an avid knitter and also loved to crochet, crafting many beautiful items for her large family. After moving to Eastham, she enjoyed the ECOA Adult Day Care, where she had many friends. Mildred was blessed by a long life and was able to enjoy and share in the lives of four generations with her children, as well as, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 17 from 5-8 PM, at the Matarese Funeral Home, Main St., Ashland, MA. Funeral Mass will be Friday July 18, at 9:00 AM, at St. Cecilia's Parish, Ashland followed by burial at St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.
