Mildred J. (Harrington) Hanscomb, 83, of Ashland, formerly of Mission Hill, Boston, MA passed away April 10th at home. She was the wife of Walter Hanscomb. Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Gertrude Harrington and had lived in Boston before moving to Ashland in 1995. Mrs. Hanscomb was a graduate of Boston High School of Practical Arts, Class of 1945. Besides her husband she is survived by six daughters: Rose Matthews of Badaxe, MI, Sandra Nieves of Hopkinton, Ramona Nee of Hingham, June Welch of Newton, Cynthia Hanscomb of Natick, and Cindy Markou of Westborough; Three sons: Lawrence and Robert Welch both of Boston and Richard Welch of Tampa, FL; One sister: Lois Ustach of Arlington, MA; Thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services are private.
