Michael Gerard Duclos, 57, passed away, Jan 1st at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Natick; he was the son of Irvin and Mary (O'Reilly) Duclos. A longtime resident of Ashland; he was a 1971 graduate of Xavier High School, Concord, MA, and later Excelsior College. He was employed as an engineer for American Optical and SOLA Optical manufacturing optical lenses and later worked as an independent consultant in quality engineering. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother; Peter Duclos of Ashland; three sisters; Beth Comstock and her husband Ted of Holliston; Ellen Doren of Ashland; and Anne Manion and her husband David of Framingham; three nieces; Maureen Doren McNichol and her husband Andrew; and Diane and Leslie Comstock; two nephews; Paul and Evan Manion; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Jan 7th at 6:30 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
