Obituary

Michael A. Curran, 58, of Linwood, MA, died in Boston after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Michael was born on February 24, 1952 in Framingham, MA. He was the fourth of seven children born to the late Lauria M. Langlois and Robert G. Curran. As a young man Michael proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He later enjoyed a full career as a shipper at Hostess Wonder Bread, Local 348 member. Michael is survived by five children, Jessica Curran Hatcher, Bonnie Curran Jones, Jamie M. O'Curran, Kimberlee Jane Curran and Colleen Katie Curran; five siblings, Robert Curran, Kathryn Rachwal, Christopher Curran, Mark Curran, and William Curran; and six grandchildren, William Hatcher, Georgia Hatcher, Grace Fisher, Owen Jones, Colin O'Curran, and Isabella-Sophia Rodrigues. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by his brother Joseph Curran. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:30am in Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish in Newton Upper Falls with burial to follow in the MA Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon at 2:00 PM. Calling hours will held Sunday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland, MA. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to the Bone Marrow Transplant Research Fund at Dana Farber Hospital, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226
