Obituary

Melvin Walter Hunt, 83, of Milford, formerly of Ashland, passed away, Thursday, Nov. 8th at the Blaire House in Milford. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Edgar and Clara (Whittemore) Hunt. Mr. Hunt was a resident of Ashland and a 1943 graduate of Ashland High School before moving to Milford in 1973. He worked for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, ME, Dennison Mfg., the Matador Restaurant in Framingham, and retired from K Mart in Milford. Mr. Hunt served his country honorably in the US Navy during the World War II. Mr. Hunt is survived by four children; Lorri Glover of Waterville, ME; Dorinda Norton of Rochester, NH; Michael Hunt and his wife Robin of Carmel, ME; and Venita Lower and her husband Rob of Waterville, ME; two sisters, Blanche Mankatelow of Leominster, Marjorie Bailey of Ashland, one brother; Edgar Hunt, Jr. of Ashland, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Frances Jones, Priscilla Denver, Elizabeth LeBlanc, and Alice Hunt. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. The family would like to thank the Blair House of Milford for the excellent care.
