Maureen Evelyn Porcella, 85, of Ashland passed away Wed. June 3rd at her home surrounded by family.  Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Viola (Taylor) Powers and wife of the late Edward Porcella who died in 2011.  Maureen worked for many years as a switchboard operator for Wellesley Municipal Light Plant retiring in 2007.  She had a passion for music with a strong sense of faith and enjoyed singing in the St. Cecilia's Church Choir, the Heavenly Fusion Choral Group, and the Westborough Community Choir.

Maureen is survived by two daughters, Robin Porcella of Ashland, and Maureen Carmichael and her husband Scott of Ashland, and two grandsons, Barry and Walter Carmichael.  She was the mother of the late Scott Porcella and baby boy Michael Porcella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday June 9th at 11:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 9:00-10:30am prior to the funeral mass in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
