Mary E
Stilwell
Aug 10, 1927 — Jan 14, 2020
King Ferry
Mary
Elizabeth Stilwell (Costanza), age 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 14
th
in King Ferry, NY. She was born on August 10
th
, 1927, raised in Framingham, MA, and a long-time resident of Ashland, MA where she raised her family.
Mary was a loving
wife to her husband Victor, and a devoted mother to her two sons David and Victor, who she adored and who adored her back with the same undeniable love. As each grandchild came, "Grammy Maria" gave that joyful love to every one of them, and they returned that same love. Their relationship was second to none.
Mary, or "Gram", lived her 92 years of life to the fullest. She loved traveling, spending summers in Cape Cod and playing endless hours of cards with her
grandchildren and her friends at the Ashland senior center.
Mary gave a lot of humor, love, warmth, and wisdom to everyone she met! She was born to Italian immigrant parents, and was very proud of her heritage; in her home, everyone was welcome and no one left hungry. She was the life of every party she
went to: you never knew when Gram would break out in a tap dance, having everyone hysterically laughing. As her last birthday shirt proclaimed, she was
"Sassy, Classy and still kicking Assy."
We will never forget her stories and wise advice, her laugh, her generous and caring nature, her spontaneous tap-dancing and her waving from the window every time someone would pull out of her driveway.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Victor A. Stilwell, who she loved and took care of through his long illness; her parents George and Rose Constanza; and seven siblings (Sally, Lena, Rose, Jenny, George, John, Carol). She leaves her sons David and his wife Elizabeth of King Ferry, NY, and Victor of North Eastham and daughter in-law Mary; six grandchildren (Kaitlin and husband Larry Tobias, Brian and wife Leigh Kalbacker, Kasey Hale and husband Jeff, Taylor and fiance Matt O'Brien, Kurt and wife Nicole, Victoria and boyfriend Anders Carlson); one great granddaughter (Tashi Tobias); and one sister (Frances Saviano).
At her request, there will be no calling hours: just a private family burial. Instead, the family requests those who were touched by her life to practice random acts of kindness in her honor. All are invited to join family to share memories of her at 2:00pm Tuesday afternoon, January 21 st , at TJ Spirits, Route 135, Ashland, MA 01721.Tuesday
