Obituary

Mary Josephine (Cavanaugh) Pulley, 87, residing at Eliot Center for Health in Natick; formerly of Ashland, died after a long period of declining health.  Mary was born on December 18, 1930 in Somerville, MA.  In addition to her parents, Mary and John Cavanaugh, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anne Crane, her former husband Alfred W. Pulley, her son Alfred W. Pulley Jr. and her grandson Phillip McMahon.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary and her husband John DeSalvo of Ashland, MA, Anne and her husband Joseph Mazzola of Framingham, MA, her son Luther ( Pete) Pulley of Norfolk, MA, and her

daughter-in-law Barbara McMahon of Somerville, MA. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren; John DeSalvo Jr. and his wife Gorette of Westborough, Seth Dion and his wife Chansoria of Medford,

Jacqueline Pomerleau and her husband Raymond of Brockton, Thomas DeSalvo of Marlboro, Kayla Pulley of Ashland, Joseph Mazzola Jr., MMN2, U.S. NAVY, Yokosuka, Japan, Patrick McMahon and his fiance Crystal Desaulniers of Somerville, Derek McMahon of Somerville, Lauren McMahon of Somerville, and Alexandra Mazzola of Winthrop.  She also leaves five great grandchildren; Molly McMahon of Somerville, Hollis McMahon of Somerville, Elliette Dion of Medford, Kennedy DeSalvo of Westborough, and Myles Pomerleau of Brockton.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Somerville Hospital with her Registered Nursing degree, working as an RN in Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Virginia before retiring in the 1970's to focus on caring for her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday Feb. 2nd at 11:00am in St. Matthew's Parish, 105 Southville Road Southboro, MA with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, 686 Washington St. Winchester, MA. Calling hours will be held Friday from 9:00-10:30am prior the mass at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
