Obituary

Mary Louise Knox (nee Connolly) of Westborough departed this world on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 surrounded by her loving children, Joseph Eugene Knox jr., Margaret (Peggy) Marie Knox, Sean Michael Knox and Scott Patrick Knox.  While she was sad to leave her loved ones behind, including daughters-in-law Mary Louise Knox and Kimberly Cote, grandchildren Michael Joseph Knox, Stephen Willam Knox and Katherine Mary Knox, as well as her great-granddaughters Brynn Knox and Molly Knox, and godsons Lincoln Connolly and Kevin Bulger, we're sure she was overjoyed to be reunited with her beloved late husband, Joseph Eugene Knox, infant son Lawrence Edward Knox, sisters Josphine Connolly and Patricia Ann Trumpler and brother Lawrence Edward Connolly upon transitioning into the next world.
Born in Boston on January 7, 1936 Mary had an abiding love of God, her family, her friends and all humankind, as well as all the creatures of God's earth. Mary believed that striving to exempllfy God's love, compassion and integrity when interacting with others was the key to living her best life.  She was a living example of having the courage of her convictions in a loving way without judging or imposing her views on others.
Mary was a highly intelligent woman who's greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family, friends and the many animals that joined her family.  Although she had survived a horrendous childhood and extensive tragedy and challenges throughout her life, Mary overcame all hardship she encountered and spent a lifetime manifesting love.  Mary strived to foster a sense of self-worth in others while providing loving guidance to her children and those seeking her counsel, in order to help them live their best life. If you went to Mary with a problem or concern, you were sure of being heard and coming away with sage advice and the knowledge that your life had immeasurable value.  She had a genuine way of making others feel loved.
Mary's legacy to us all is her shining example of character which embodies love, faith, spirituality, grace, compassion, tolerance, humor, generosity of spirit and a truly forgiving heart. We were all blessed and privileged to have this amazing soul in our lives.  It is the hope of her children that all who met her will continue to follow her example and make their part of the world a place of love, tolerance and acceptance.  She is dearly missed by her children and all who knew her.  We love you, Mom.
Mary Louise will be interred at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland, Massachusetts in a private service.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Westborough Food Pantry, P. O. Box 502, Westborough, MA 01581
