Mary C
Fetig
Apr 6, 1924 — Sep 18, 2018
Largo
FETIG, MARY C., 94, of Largo, FL was called Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Mary was born April 6, 1924 in Washington, NJ. Mary proudly worked as a Bachelor of Science Registered Nurse, graduating from the New Jersey College for Women (Rutgers) and Presbyterian/Columbia University. She worked for over 20 years at Framingham Union Hospital (MetroWest Medical Center), in the Medical/Surgical ward. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Jack E. Fetig (2000) and a son, David B. (1969).
She is survived by her son, Don Fetig (Diane), of Ashburnham, MA; 2 daughters, Deb Dumont (Larry), of Aurora, CO and DeeDee Ritter (Phil), of Midway, AR and sister, Betty Ann Wright, of Washington, NJ. She is also survived by 2 grandsons, Ian (Amanda) Fetig, of Gardner, MA and Joel Phaneuf of Peterborough, NH, and great-grandsons Jack Fetig of Gardner, MA and Zachary and Tyler Phaneuf, of Peterborough, NH.
Mary will always be remembered as a kind and generous soul. Many family members, friends and neighbors were the lucky recipients of her handmade Christmas ornaments every year from 1986 through 2015. During her years in Ashland, she was closely involved with the Boy Scouts, the Lions Club and the Lionness Club. She unselfishly opened her home to her children's friends, often times cooking or baking for them. Her family, friends and neighbors will remember the freshly baked Christmas cookie plates that she lovingly created and distributed through the neighborhood and to the postman and the sanitation engineer. She was an avid reader, played cards and Bingo with her neighbors, and volunteered at the Largo Center for Performing Arts.
