Martha J. Nutting, 72, of Ashland, passed away, Friday, August 12th at her home in Ashland. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lottie (Edwards) Read and wife of George Nutting. They were married 52 years. Martha was a graduate of Framingham High School Class of 1956 and moved to Ashland in 1964. As a teenager she was a member of the Framingham Rainbow Girls and later in life was a member of the Framingham Senior Center, participant of the Framingham Heart Study, and active member of the former Park Street Baptist Church in Framingham. She was recently a parishioner and choir member of the First Community Church in Southborough. Mrs. Nutting enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and line dancing in Southborough and Framingham. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons; Mark Nutting of Ashland and Robert Nutting and his wife Lisa of Rockland; seven grandchildren; Shannon, Mark, Timmy, Jonathan, Julie, Gina, and Luke; one brother, Philip Read, and one sister, Elsie Rogers, both of Framingham. She was the sister to the late June Brodeur. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16th at 11:00am in the First Community Church in Southborough. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
