Marjorie Steacie, 85, of Wellesley died March 15th after a courageous battle with cancer. She looked forward to celebrating her 86th birthday on St. Patrick's Day. She is predeceased by her parents, Curtis and Marion Steacie of Wellesley, and her sister, Carol Whalen of North Branford, Conn. A graduate of Wellesley High (1943) and Vermont Junior College (1945), she had a long career in the secretarial field, most notably with Babson Reports, Wellesley. She very much enjoyed painting and travel. In her later years she cared for her parents. She is survived by a sister, Jeanne Harriman of Wolfeboro, NH and a brother, John Steacie of St. Petersburg, FL (formerly of Framingham), and eight nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, 207 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02481 or Metrowest Hospice and Homecare, 85 Lincoln Street, Framingham, MA 01702. A memorial service will be held in the Wallace Chapel of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church on March 23rd at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Plymouth.
