Marjorie Bailey, 84, of Ashland, died on Dec. 10th after a brief illness. She was the wife of Allan Bailey, also of Ashland. She was born in Maine and moved to Ashland when she was a child. She graduated from Ashland High School as valedictorian of her class. Marjorie was a long time parishioner of the Ashland Federated Church, and belonged to the Theta Phi's. Marjorie was a talented artist, and used her abilities to create church bulletins and to assist as a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed square dancing, knitting, rug braiding, and painting with oils and watercolors. Marjorie is survived by her husband, Allan, and their three daughters: Nancy Lepore and her husband Thomas; Linda Wager and her husband Steve; Donna Beales and her husband Thomas; and her sister Blanche Manktelow. She had six grandchildren, Timothy and Elizabeth Lepore, Lindsey and Steven Lyon, Caitlyn Wager, and Garrette Beales. One calling hour will be held Thursday, Dec. 15th from 12:00-1:00 PM at the Ashland Federated Church, 118 Main St., Ashland followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ashland Federated Church.
