Marion Muri, 81, of Ashland passed away on February 27th surrounded by her family. Born in Framingham, Marion was the daughter of the late Horace and Ruth Oliver. She graduated from Framingham High school in 1949 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Framingham Union in 1952. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and enjoyed hosting events with her sorority sisters for many years. Marion was a sports enthusiast and an avid Red Sox fan. She was an animal lover sharing her home with many pets over the years and enjoyed bird watching. Despite many years of physical challenge Marion remained cheerful and positive and loved spending time with her family. She was appreciative of the care and support of her children and grand-children who will all miss her quick smile. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Muri Jr., and daughter, Susan Muri. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth and her husband William Truehart of Bedford, New Hampshire and sons, Richard and his wife Mary of Steilacoom, Washington, Robert and his wife Jose of Ashland, Joseph III and his wife Sueann of Upton, Edward and his wife Linda of Hopkinton, and her daughter Linda of Sudbury. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren: Jennifer Keplman, Amber Martin, Jonathan Muri, Sarah Officer, Bradley Muri, Erica Muri, Danielle Logan, Justin Muri, Alex Muri, Christopher Muri, Ben Nocera, and Emily Muri; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday March 3, 2013 in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA (www.materesefuneral.com).
