Obituary

Marion Louise (Lilla) Dwyer, 94, of Framingham passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Easter Sunday. She was the beloved wife of William G. Dwyer. Marion was born on September 19, 1923, in Auburn, Massachusetts to the late Catherine (Ciabaszewski) and Michael G. Lilla.

Marion was raised in Auburn, Massachusetts along with her 4 brothers and sisters. During WWII, she worked in an office until meeting her husband, Bill, of 73 years.   After marrying,  they moved several times until settling in Framingham, MA in 1950.  It was here Marion grew roots and raised her seven children with a love and devotion admired by all.  She joined St. Bridgets church upon moving to Framingham, where she brought her brood each Sunday for Mass.

Marion took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home in which to raise her family and share with her husband. She decorated the home impeccably, and created beautiful gardens around the home for all to enjoy.  Many a fun time was had outside in the summers, enjoying cookouts with her family masterfully hosted by her.  Holidays were also a time of great joy and fun.  Marion continued to host Holiday gatherings for a small army until her passing. She was an avid sewer, creating many beautiful outfits for herself and her children in her earlier years, and later moving on to doll clothes for her grandchildren to enjoy.

Marion and Bill joined the Framingham Country Club in 1961, remaining a member there for 57 years. As her children grew and she had more time, she became an avid golfer.  A quick study, Marion beat her husband in hitting a coveted Hole-In-One.  Marion had an an inquisitive and sharp mind, a great sense of humor, and an abundance of charm and class.  She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Marion is survived by her husband, William G. Dwyer, three sons, William M. and John R. Dwyer of Framingham and Richard J. Dwyer and his wife Martha of Winthrop; three daughters, Dianne Morgado and her husband Richard of Mattapoisett, Nancy Dwyer-Hurley of Oxford, and Paula Forrester and her husband Thomas of Cohassett, and a sister, Barbara Toboyko of Auburn. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Christopher and Ami Morgado, Michael and Joseph Hurley, Jillian and Allyson Forrester, and Stephen Dwyer and his wife, Ruth, four great-grandchildren, William, Sean, Michaela and Arianna Dwyer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Dwyer; her sister, Dorothy Listewnik; and brothers Robert and Edward Lilla.
