After a long, blessed, and love-filled life, Marilyn May (Uloth) Hollis passed beautifully into eternal life on February 5, 2022.

She is survived by her greatest joys, her daughters Linda Ronan and her husband Skip of Scituate, MA, Cynthia Reardon of Plymouth, MA, and Julie Reardon and her husband Douglas of Franklin, MA. She leaves five Grandchildren: Stephanie Crews of East Bend, NC, Matthew Reardon of Franklin, MA, Amy Healey of Laconia, NH, Laura Moynihan of Franklin, MA, and Andrew Reardon of Cranston, RI. She leaves eleven Great Grandchildren: Jacqueline Budd of Sayre, PA, Christopher Durant of Falls Church, VA, Kathryn Durant of Greenville, NC, James Reardon of Franklin, MA, Daylen Crews of East Bend, NC, Jack Reardon of Franklin, MA, Madison Reardon of Franklin, MA, Declan Moynihan of Franklin, MA, Nola Reardon of Cranston, RI, and Payton and Taegan Moynihan of Franklin, MA. She leaves two Great Great Granddaughters: Riley and Aubrey Jones of Sayre, PA. She also leaves her brother Richard Uloth and his wife Beverly of Hanover, MA.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edith Torrey and Henry Covert Arthur Uloth, her beloved husband Wilson T. Hollis Jr., her granddaughter Reverend Jennifer Durant and her son-in-law Edward D. Reardon Jr.

"Mel" was born on August 13, 1930, in Lynn, MA, and grew up in Hanover, MA. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1948. She married "Bud" and moved to Scituate where she lived for 74 years. The "Homestead" on First Parish Road was her greatest possession and her meticulous care and love of the property was a proud accomplishment.

She kept the ancestral history of the family's genealogy alive with details of dates, places of birth and death, certification of the Mayflower descendants and most important added photos, newspaper clippings, tintypes of Civil War ancestors, and stories that brought the family's history to life. As babies were born, trees were planted at the Homestead and Mel's requirement was those babies' feet were placed on its sacred ground.

She retired from Scituate Public Schools where she worked for 30 years. She and Bud were members of Beechwood Congressional Church of Cohasset. They traveled the New England highways on Bud's Honda Gold Wing motorcycle as members of the Retreads (Retirees) Motorcycle Club.

Mel always felt astounded and honored with the ownership of the ancestral home and dedicated her days to its care. This was where Mel continued to help the younger generations form their character and values.

A private graveside ceremony is being planned at a later date. Please visit Matarese Funeral Home at www.mataresefuneral.com . Donations in Mel's memory may be made to Paralyzed Vets, Wounded Warriors, or any veteran's organization of your choice.
