Obituary

Marilyn Moore Hinkely

May 20, 1942-March 24, 2025

Marilyn passed away Monday, March 24th at her home with her daughter by her side. Marilyn was 82 years old and lived in Marlboro, MA.

Marilyn was born and raised in Holyoke, MA and was the daughter of James and Margaret Moore and sister of Joan and Dave who have all predeceased her.

Marilyn graduated from the Providence School of Nursing in 1963 and dedicated her life to the profession. She was a natural nurse, excelling in every area she worked. Marilyn proudly held roles in the ER, OR, Recovery Rooms, and as a nurse liaison for Hospice, continuing to care for others until her retirement. She was always a phone call away for anyone in need of medical advice, offering guidance with her signature wisdom.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. Marilyn's children, Maura of Ashland, MA, and David of Steamboat Springs, CO, were her greatest pride. She devoted herself to them, always putting their needs first. As her family grew, Marilyn embraced her role as mother-in-law to Linda and grandmother to Ella, Makenna, and Madden. She cherished every moment with them, often saying she loved them all a "bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."

Cape Cod was Marilyn's happy place - she loved any place with a beach!

Marilyn was known to many as one of the most giving people alive. She would give you the actual shirt off of her back and loved to help anyone who needed it. She was selfless in all she did. Marilyn was truly her happiest when she was helping others. Her smile could light up any room!

In addition to Maura, David and their families, Marilyn leaves her cousin Bruce and his wife Jean of Norwell, MA. Her niece Andrea Noel Beach and her family. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Hinkley.

In keeping with Marilyn's wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring to honor her memory.
