Marie E. Heine born Marie Matthews on March 3, 1924 to Raymond and Lena Matthews in Leominster, Ma, died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on September 12. Marie raised her family in Ashland where she was director of the Ashland Housing Authority for many years. She is predeceased by her late husband Atty. Algernon Heine and leaves her four daughters; Susan Benedetti of Northboro, Patricia D'Amico of Milford, Lisa Payne and her husband George of Holliston, and Janice Santello of Shrewsbury; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Marie spent her latter years in Holliston. She enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and Cape Cod. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. One visiting hour will be held from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service.
