Margaret M. Gurney, 89, of Ashland passed away at her home after a period of declining health.   Born in Natick, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Spellman) Ronan and wife of the late Henry W. Gurney for 57 years. A resident of Ashland since 1954, Margaret taught kindergarten at Little Folk Farm School in Ashland for more than 20 years. She also worked as a school crossing guard in the Town of Ashland for several years.

Mrs. Gurney is survived by four children; Patricia Gurney Thibault and her husband Thomas of Raleigh, NC; Henry W. Gurney Jr. of Palm Desert, CA; James M. Gurney of Douglas, MA; and David F. Gurney of Ashland; five grandchildren; James and Jonathan Thibault of Raleigh, NC; Matthew Gurney of Oakham, MA; Dylan Gurney of Brewster, MA; and Margaret E. Gurney of Douglas, MA; one sister; Elizabeth P. Horn of Sturbridge, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late James T. Ronan Jr., Roger Ronan, and Catherine Ronan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wed. Oct. 11th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. One calling hour will be held Wed. from 7:45-8:45am prior to the Mass in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Catholic Charities of Boston
