Manseur "Manny" Salem 88 of Marlborough, passed away January 8th at Marlborough Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Izzy" (Shahood) Salem for 64 years. Born in Boston he was the son of the late John and Nellie (Maloof) Salem. He was a long time resident of Framingham before moving to Marlborough 2 ½ years ago. Mr. Salem was employed by Baird Atomics for 30 years. He was an avid golfer. He was a devoted grandfather and great grandfather and always attended his grandsons' hockey games. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 children: Thomas Salem of Caldwell, TX; and Diane Doyle and her husband Richard of Marlborough; 4 grandchildren: Thomas Salem Jr. and his wife Sandra of Milford, MA; Lori (Salem) Pasciuti and her husband John of Caldwell, TX; Stephen Doyle of Brookline, MA; Paul Doyle and his wife Karen of Marietta, GA; 2 great-grandchildren: Kelsie and Jonathan Salem of Milford, MA; and 3 sisters: Betty Kalil, Mae Culhane, Helen Phillbrick all of Boston. Mr. Salem was also brother to the late James Salem, Zakii Maloof and Josie Christensen. A funeral Mass will be said on Thursday morning, January 12th at 9:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland.
