Malcolm Jay Whitham, 51, of Ashland, passed away Friday, December 29th at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born in Framingham, Mr. Whitham was the son of the late Jack and Eleanor (Abbott) Whitham. Mr. Whitham leaves his wife Andrea (Owens) Whitham. He was a lifelong resident of Ashland. Mr. Whitham was a motorcycle enthusiast and an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a tool and die maker and had been employed by Century Manufacturing for over 7 years. Mr. Whitham owned and operated a small engine repair business. Besides his wife, Mr. Whitham leaves a daughter, Emma Whitham of Ashland; his stepmother, Marion Whitham of Oregon; ten siblings, Lillian Imparato of Hudson, Evelyn Ryan and her husband James of Quincy, Andrew Whitham of Marlboro, John Mahar and his wife Teresa of Oregon, David Whitham of Ashland, Michael Mahar of Oregon, Carolyn Anderson and her husband Harry of Holliston, Trevor Whitham and his wife Elizabeth of Ashland, Patricia Wheeler of Montana, and Catherine Gandolfo and her husband Joseph of Grafton; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitham was also the brother of the late Ronald Mahar. A celebration of Malcolm's life will be held on Thursday, January 4th at 7:00 PM in the New England Chapel, 40 Kenwood Circle in Franklin.
