Lucia Marrone, 76, of Ashland passed away Saturday August 22, 2015. She was the wife of the late Gioacchino Marrone who died in 2004. Mrs. Marrone was a talented seamstress often working for her brother's business Fici's Tailor Shop in Natick. Lucia is survived by three children; Francesca Marrone of Webster; Giuseppe Marrone and his wife Denise of Ashland; and Jacqueline Marrone of Ashland; one step-daughter; Ezia Marrone Leach and her husband Martin of Madison, CT; three grandchildren; Julia Chapman and Daniel and Sedona Leach; three sisters; Sara Pibiri, Francesca Fici, and Diana Puma, all of Sicily; and two brothers; Francesco Fici of Ashland; and Mario Fici of New Hampshire. She was the mother of the late Francis Occhipinti, and sister of the late Gioacchino Fici. A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 28th at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Friday from 11:00-1:00 Pm prior to the service.
