Louis Joseph Monaco, 88, a resident of Ashland for 25 years, passed away, Saturday, March 29th. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Brady) Monaco and is survived by his second wife Patricia Ahern. They had been married for 30 years. Mr. Monaco was a restaurateur. He owned and ran Monaco's 10 Acres in Wayland and Piccolo's Pizza in Natick, Wellesley and Framingham. He was matrade at the LaCantina restaurant in Framingham for almost 20 years and manager of Dinty Moore's Restaurant in Boston for 15 years. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy for 14 years and during WWII. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by three children: Ronald L. Monaco and his wife Melissa of Lynnwood, WA, Bruce E. Monaco and his wife Mary of South Yarmouth, Lisa Campbell of Rutland; six step children, Karen Alberini of Ashland, Paul Ahern and his wife Michelle of Medway, Peter Ahern of Northbridge, Margaret Tucci and her husband Michael of Medway, Kathleen Clifford and her husband Scott of Franklin, Elizabeth Healey and her husband Paul of Franklin; 5 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday April 2nd, at 9:00 AM in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty Street, Ashland.
