Obituary

Louis T. Abelli, 83, of Framingham, died Wednesday, January 7th, 2009. He was the devoted husband of the late Jeanne F. (Donnelly) Abelli for 58 years. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Secondo and Marcella (Vicini) Abelli. He was a 1943 graduate of Framingham High School. During World War II, he was a flight engineer on a P.B.M. seaplane in the United States Navy, Atlantic Theater. Mr. Abelli loved building and was a respected general contractor who built many buildings in the area. He also gave freely of his time and abilities to so many in the community. He was an honorable man, loyal friend, and was loved by all who knew him. Mr. Abelli had been active in the Little League and the Youth Hockey Program. He also liked to fly, play golf, hockey, bocci, and pitch. He was a member of St. Tarcisious' bowling league and the Marlborough Country Club. He was a long-time member of the Columbus Society as well as a trustee for many years. He loved to dance with his wife Jeanne. His family was his passion. He was a proud father and grandfather. He leaves his children Kevin Abelli and his wife, Katherine, of Meredith, NH, Jay T. Abelli of Ashland, Neil J. Abelli and his wife, Carol, of Framingham, Chris A. Abelli and his wife, Lynn, of Ashland, Linda J. Abelli and her husband, Nick Fichter, of Duxbury, Cara A. Zell and her husband, Jerry, of Glenmont, NY, Terese E. Abelli-Amen and her husband, Bruce, of Petaluma, CA, and Marcia A. Parisi and her husband, Bob, of Ashland. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Caitlin, Kristen, Louis, Eric, Ryan, Jenna, Adria, Ben, Marissa, Ella, Kyle, Dan, Joe, Maggie, and Jim; his brother, Ugo R. Abelli of Natick; his sister Anna Chiounard; and his late sister, Theresa Macura, both of Framingham; and many nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, a private Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland. Telephone calls or cards are welcome, but the family requests that no flowers or memorial donations be sent.
