Linda May Nelson, 65, of Framingham passed away January 16th from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Gardner. Born in Brattleboro, VT; she was the daughter of the late Everett and Iva (Hill) Nelson. Linda received a bachelor's degree in French from the University of New Hampshire, her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and later her law degree from Suffolk University. She worked as a French teacher in Wellesley until her retirement in 2005 and went on to work for the Framingham Public Library until her death. Linda was an avid reader with a keen interest in foreign languages. She was fluent in French, Russian, and German, and had a working knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese. She also enjoyed antiquing and perusing thrift stores. Ms. Nelson is survived by her brother David Nelson of St. Louis, MO, one aunt Doris Hill of Hanover, NH, two nieces, Jennifer Brown of Washington, MO, and Denise Cowley of Cedar Hill, MO, two great-nieces and nephews, and her beloved canine friend "Lady". A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 10th at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. One calling hour will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM prior to the service.
