Leroy L. Kelly, 74, of Holliston formerly a longtime resident of Ashland passed away Wed. June 15th.  Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Richard and Marguerite (Lawrence) Kelly and husband to Ann (DiPalma) Kelly. Leroy devoted his career to helping people with substance abuse and teaching others how to help those with substance abuse.  He started his career as a counselor at Middlesex Detox and later became Director of Alcohol Services at Spaulding Rehab in Boston. He then served as community outreach coordinator at Norwood Hospital (NORCAP) and as manager of counseling services at Mt. Auburn Hospital. He was a founding member of the Massachusetts Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (MAADAC). Leroy also served on the faculty at both the University of Massachusetts Boston and Cambridge College.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by four sons; Brian J. Kelly and his wife Judy of Framingham; Michael L. Kelly and his wife Karen of Medway; Andrew T. Kelly and his wife Sheri of Williamstown, and Sean P. Kelly of Boston; nine grandchildren; Aileen, Katharine, Liam, Alex, Jackson, Tyler, Sarah, Thomas, and Elizabeth; two brothers; Richard J. Kelly of North Falmouth; and Peter H. Kelly of Blackstone; and two sisters; Mary L. Kelly of Ashland; and Peg Coleman of Milford.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 18th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.  Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118 or the Xaverian Missionaries c/o Fatima Shrine, 101 Summer St. Holliston, MA  01746.
