Laurent E. "Larry" Caron, of Ashland, MA; died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his home after a long illness. Larry was born in Chicopee, MA and was the son of J. Ovide Caron and Valeda A. (Leclerc) Caron. He was the husband of the late Therese G. (Babineau) Caron. Larry was a graduate of Fairfield University and the New England School of Law. He specialized in Labor Law and was employed by General Motors and the Raytheon Company. He was the legal union representative for local Fire and Police Departments. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the First Artillery. Larry was an avid Red Sox Fan and lover of the game of golf. He also enjoyed gourmet cooking for his family and friends. He is survived by Patricia Ross, his beloved companion, a son, Stephen C. Caron of Attleboro, MA, a daughter, Jacqueline T. Cueroni and her husband, Joseph Cueroni of Framingham, MA, and a brother Charles Caron of Fort Mill, South Carolina. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, Andrea, Thomas, Joseph, Anthony, Michelle and Christina, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Marcelle Caron, Norma Neece, Dr. Paul Caron and Dr. Roland Caron. A funeral Mass will be said on Wednesday morning in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland at 9:00am with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held from the Matarese Funeral Home, (www.mataresefuneral.com) 325 Main St., Ashland on Tuesday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
