Laura (Urbinati) Wharton, 99, of Framingham passed away July 18th at Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late John and Justine Urbinati and wife to the late Charles Wharton who died in 2007. A lifelong resident of Framingham, Mrs. Wharton was an original member of the Framingham Heart Study. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by the adoring family that she leaves behind. She is the loving mother of three children; Jean Racey of Framingham; William Hoey and his wife Alice of Framingham; and Gerald Seymour and his wife Linda of Mashpee; one brother Louis Urbinati of Clearwater, Fl; beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late John Hoey and his wife Margaret of Framingham. Laura's family would like to extend a special thank you to her second family at Countryside Nursing Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 21st at 10:00am in St. Tarcisius Church in Framingham with burial to follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Countryside Nursing Home - Patient Recreation Fund, 153 Winter St. Framingham, MA 01702.
