Kenneth Nicholas
Roy
d. Dec 24, 2020
Kenneth Nicholas Roy, 55, of Cebu in the Philippines, formerly of Ashland and Framingham, passed away on Christmas Eve of a tragic electrical accident. Born in Framingham, he was the son of Geraldine (Nicholas and Agnes Montal) Roy of Trinity, Florida and Robert J. Roy (J. Arthur and Gertrude) of Taos, New Mexico, both long time Framingham residents before moving the family to Ashland in the 1960's.
Ken attended Ashland schools before attending Shanghai University and graduating from Hofstra University in NY with a degree in Business Management. First Sergeant Kenneth Nicholas Roy retired from the US Army after 22 years and 9 months of outstanding service to his country. He has a U.S. Army certificate that reads like a novel with a list of medals, citations and campaign ribbons, including induction into the elite organization known as the "Sergeant Audie Murphy Club." Only 2% of the Army's top Non Commission Officers are selected, pass the rigorous requirements and attain this honor. Ken's military achievements would be the envy of any professional combatant as he loved being a soldier and was born to lead the troops.
Ken has three children in his former marriage to Etsuko Roy: two sons, Kentaro and Makoto, and a daughter Yukiko who gave birth to twins in December.
Besides his parents and children, Ken leaves his wife Lourdes, stepdaughter Stephany, beloved stepmother Ellen Roy of Taos, most loved brother Christopher, many aunts, uncles, cousins and the multitude of friends, all who truly loved and will miss Ken.
A Catholic funeral mass was celebrated for Ken in Cebu in the Philippines where half of his cremains will be interred. On Friday, may 7th there will be a Military Honors service at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Hwy 72, Florida at 11 A.M. Internment will be in the Cemetery Columbarium.
We pray that the soul of Kenneth Nicholas Roy will Rest In Peace with the Lord.
