Kenneth Donald Chester, 86, of Ashland passed away Thursday Aug. 4th peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia (Lake) Chester who died in 2012. He was born in Jeannette, PA and came to the Metrowest area in 1952. He was a Manufacturer's Sales Representative for over 60 years. He was a fun loving, jovial, generous person. He was a member of the Ashland Lions Club as well as an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor. In his younger days he enjoyed square dancing and travel with his wife. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and sharing in their lives. He spent every summer for over 50 years in Phillipston, MA on Queen Lake where he had some of his fondest memories.

He is survived by two sons; Kevin D. Chester and his wife Joanna of Dudley, MA; and Kenneth D. Chester and his wife Heidi of Lancaster, NH; two beautiful granddaughters that he was extremely proud of; Kaitlin Nowicki and her husband Jeff of Boston; and Kristina Chester of Dudley; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. He will live in our hearts forever.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday Aug. 11th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 Pm in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.
