Kenneth Paul Brackett, 54, of Ashland passed away March 28th. Born in Framingham, he was the beloved son of Theodore and Priscilla (Spencer) Brackett and was a lifelong resident of Ashland. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, Class of 1974. He attended and graduated from Westfield State University, Class of 1978. Employed as a teacher in the Medfield School System for over 15 years, Ken was a dedicated coach in basketball, and tennis. He coached in Ashland, Natick, and most recently Medfield High School teams. He spent summers as a director at the Pilgrim Day Camp in Framingham. Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters: Kathleen O'Brien and her husband Larry of Landenberg, PA; Kim Schouler and her husband Kevin of Hyannis; and Kristine Mespelli and her husband Christopher of Upton; six nephews and two nieces. A memorial service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Ken Brackett Scholarship Fund; a college fund for deserving senior basketball players.
