Katherine "Kay" Bolles, 88, of Framingham passed away Sunday June 22, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Hester (Chapman) Smith. Kay was the wife of Norman Bolles for 15 years and previously married to the late Lee Leeland Sr who died in 2007. Early in her career she worked as a bookkeeper for Middlesex News, was a manager for the building department of Framingham Union Hospital, worked as an assistant director of the Callahan Senior Center in Framingham, owned and operated Birds of a Feather in Framingham, and was an owner and operator of Norman's Appliance of Framingham.
In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by two children, Lee Leeland Jr and his wife Emelia of Bellingham, and Debra Leeland Bianco and her husband Anthony of Framingham, four step-children, Tina Bolles of Hopkinton, Tracy Bolles and his wife Katie of Bellingham, Tommy Bolles and his wife Jen of Bellingham, and Theresa Bolles of Framingham, grandchildren Amanda Leeland, Jessica and Patricia Bianco, and Caitlin, Sean, and Madison Bolles, two brothers, John Smith of MD and Andrew Smith and his wife LouAnn of NC, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 26th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 12th at 11:00am in Christ Lutheran Church, 113 Union St. Natick, MA.
Donations in Kay's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation .
