June Stephens' Obituary
June K. Stephens of Ashland passed away on Tuesday October 3rd after a period of declining health. Born in Huntingdon, PA on Jan. 14, 1927, she was the daughter of Richard and Helen (Daughenbaugh) Brenneman. She was the wife of the late Arthur Stephens.
June grew up in Natick and graduated from Framingham State Teachers College. She taught school in several local towns over the years. She loved books and nature.
She is survived by a daughter, Brooke Knapp of Ashland, a son, Todd Stephens and his wife Faith of Upton, and a daughter Beth Stephens of Southborough. She is also survived by granddaughter Christy and husband Jason, granddaughter Brooke and wife Carla, grandson Tyler, granddaughter Kathleen, and grandson Ethan, and five great granddaughters. June is also survived by her sisters, Joann Fair and Susan Cioppa and her husband Carl.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to CareGroup Parmenter Home Care and Hospice, One Arsenal Market Place, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Friends of the Ashland Library, 66 Front St., Ashland, MA 01721.
