Obituary

Julius Lee Rolls, Sr, 84, of Blackstone, formerly of Framingham; died Thursday, March 2, 2006 after a brief illness while visiting his daughter in Florida. He was the husband of the late Irene (Miller) Rolls, who died in 2004. They were both happily married for 62 years. Born and raised in Houston, Texas he was the son of Augustus and Beatrice (Leamon) Rolls. He retired from General Motors in Framingham where he worked for 36 years. He lived in Framingham for over 60 years before moving to Blackstone, MA with his son in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and had a love for Country and Western music. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be very much missed by his family and friends. Mr. Rolls served his country honorably with the US Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Nevada. He is survived by his five children: Leona Carbonaro and her husband Dominick of Leesburg, FL; Elizabeth Bellantuoni of Ashland; JoAnn Quirk and her husband Christopher of Framingham; Lee Rolls Jr. of Blackstone; and Barbara Tekut of Hopkinton; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Marjorie Bonina and her husband Gaetano of Milford, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 7th, at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland with burial to follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
