Judith Eleanor Shapiro's Obituary
Judith Eleanor Dunn Shapiro, 86, of Ashland, formerly of Needham and Watertown passed away Tue. May 9th. She was the beloved wife of Martin Lewis Shapiro for 62 years. Daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ruth (Berman) Dunn. Judy worked in the Malden Public School system as the first speech therapist in the early 50's. She was cofounder of Congregation Sha'arei Shalom of Ashland.
In addition to her husband; she is survived by her children; Dawn Ringel and her husband Maury; Ron Escobar Shapiro and his husband Alex; Laurie Shapiro; Evan Shapiro; and the late Shalom Shapiro; one granddaughter, Emily Ringel, one sister, Sandra Porr, and one sister-in-law, Myra Dunn and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 11th at 11:30am in Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton St. Sharon, MA. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy's name to the Ashland Emergency Fund, PO Box 112, Ashland, MA 01721
