Joyce Chalmers Perry, 87, of Ashland, MA, former longtime resident of Higganum, CT, passed away Monday Nov. 14th after a period of declining health. Born in New Rochelle, NY, Joyce was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Brazos) Chalmers. She was the wife of Alfred Perry for 61 years. A graduate of the Univ. of New Hampshire, Joyce worked as a published writer, a fiber artist, and an avid gardener.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Lisa Perry and her husband Norman Coburn of Natick, and Matthew Perry and his wife Diane of North Bennington, VT, and one sister, Joan Harris of Shrewsbury, MA. She was the mother of the late Gwenna Perry of New York and sister to the late Alan Chalmers of Vermont. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother of 7, to her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday Nov. 19th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA 01721. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech St. Framingham, MA 01702 or a charity of your choice.
