Joseph A. Pascucci Sr., 81, formerly of Framingham died Thursday February 8th in Edgewater Florida. He was the husband of Barbara (Thivierge) Pascucci. The couple celebrated their 59th anniversary in May, 2006. Born in Framingham he was the son of the late Andrea and Ida Paolini Pascucci Leonardi. He graduated from Newton High and Newton Technical High School. He was a Master and Journey Electrician having belonged to Local 103 for 54 years. Mr. Pascucci served with the U.S. Marine Corps, 2nd Marine Division in the Pacific Arena during WWII taking part in the securing of Saipan Island, the battle of Okinawa and early occupancy of Nagasaki, Japan. After WWII he was in the Marine Corp. Reserve and was activated for the Korean conflict in 1950. Mr. Pascucci was a lifelong resident of Framingham until his retirement in 1988, when he began living 6 months in Florida and 6 months in Framingham until moving full time to Florida in October 2005. He had many hobbies over the years including hunting, fishing, clamming, shrimping and camping with Family Motor Coach Association Plate 1140. He enjoyed hosting clam bakes for family and friends using the Hot Rock Indian method. He also loved to cook. He belonged to the Columbus Society of Framingham, was a member of the Elks Lodge #1264 Framingham and the American Legion Post 17 of New Smyrna Beach, FL. Besides his wife, he leaves 3 daughters and their husbands, Ann and Donald Mace of Edgewater, FL; Jean and Michael Cronin of Franklin; Janet and Mark Pegoraro of Ashland; 1 son and his wife, Joseph and Jackie Pascucci Jr. of Framingham.; 6 grandchildren, Todd and Chad Cronin, Jenna and Kacie Pegoraro, Joseph and Jordan Pascucci; 9 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 3 step great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Ines Ablonde of Framingham, John Leornardi of Sarasota, FL and Joann Sostillis of Framingham. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday February 13th at 9:00 AM in St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford Street, Natick. Burial will be Wednesday in the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 12th from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the Matarese Funeral Home (www.mataresefuneral.com), 325 Main Street in Ashland. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
