Joseph F. Pontremoli, 78, of Ashland passed away Wed. August 8th. He was the husband of Susan (Willard) Pontremoli and son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Grace) Pontremoli. A longtime resident of Ashland, Joe worked for the Ashland Public School Maintenance Department for 25 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Robert Pontremoli of Uxbridge; John Pontremoli and his wife Jaquiline of Natick; Linda Bergantino and her husband John of Framingham; and Michael Pontremoli and his wife Carol of Hopkinton; ten grandchildren: Tara Arena, Jason Pontremoli, Amy Coppola, Jessica Fitzpatrick, Melissa Anderson, Julie Pontremoli, Samantha Melinski, Sean Pontremoli, Nicole Gray, and Ashley Pontremoli; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Burrows and her husband Lyndon; two brothers in law, Charles Philbrick and Peter Dolliver; many nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Maggie. He was the brother of the late Barbara Young, Jane Philbrick, Evelyn Hughes, Helen Dolliver, and Richard Pontremoli. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 13th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM in the funeral home.
