Joseph A. Merusi, 77, of Upton and formerly from Framingham, MA died on June 6, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was a retired crane operator and proud member of the Local 4 for over 50 years, and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Domestico) Merusi of 40 years. He also leaves and will be very much missed by his children; Charles Drenas of NH, Darlene Webster and her husband Justin of Hopkinton, Carrie Ramsey and her husband Matthew of Upton, and his 6 grandchildren; Tammy, Amanda, Lindsay, Hayden, Jason, Brody, and his nephew, Chad. He was the brother of the late Rosalie (Merusi) Kritzas. His greatest joy was his family and the laughter that came with his grandchildren. He was an active member of Columbus Hall in Framingham. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 11th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. A private family burial service will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 20 Prospect St. Milford, MA 01757.
