Joseph E. (Buck) Macchi, 93, of Southborough formerly of Framingham and Cape Cod, passed away Wednesday June 7th. Mr. Macchi was the husband of the late Julia (Kadra) Macchi who passed away in 1997. They were married for 56 years. Mr. Macchi was born in Milford and was the son of the late Jeremiah and Lena (White) Macchi. Mr. Macchi worked as a General Supervisor for General Motors for 30 years. He and Julia were avid Pats fan and along with their children, enjoyed summering at Hampton Beach, Lake Winnipesaukee, Gloucester and Cape Cod. They were also huge Holy Cross fans traveling the country to cheer them on. At times they might "take a little ride" and end up in Albany. They supported all of the children's high school and college sporting endeavors. Mr. and Mrs. Macchi had an open door policy, welcoming all into their home. Mr. Macchi is survived by three sons, Alfred Macchi and his wife Deborah of Ashland, David Macchi and his wife Jan of Savannah, GA, Robert Macchi and his wife Trina of Hopkinton; one daughter, Helen Sullivan and her husband John of Southborough; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Macchi was predeceased by three siblings, Alfred Macchi, Helen Bresciari and Arthur Macchi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday June 13th at St. Matthews Church, 105 Southville Road in Southborough.
