Joseph John Hughes, 50, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012. He was the loving husband of Ruth (Howland) Hughes. They were married 24 years. Born in Marlborough, Ma he was the son of the late Maurice Hughes of Sebec, ME and the late Evelyn (Pontremoli) Hughes of Ashland. He was a life long resident of Ashland. He was employed by Terumo Cardiovascular Systems in Ashland for 19 years. He enjoyed the Pats, the Sox and the Bruins. He was an avid collector of antiques and die cast cars. Most Sundays he could be found roaming the Grafton Flea Market. He loved spending time with his family and doting on his granddaughter. Besides his wife, Joe is survived by his children: Jessica Lee and her husband Samson, Jaimie Hughes and John Hughes all of Ashland; Joseph and his wife Linda of Kannapolis, NC; Jason Hughes of Framingham; Amy Sterling and her husband Scott of Celina, TX. He is further survived by two brothers; Maurice and Mark Hughes both of Ashland; three sisters; Patty Boucher and Ann Marie Fell of Ashland and Val Hughes of Sebec, ME. He also leaves four grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. His funeral service will be held Monday, April 2nd at 12pm at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland. Burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 1st from 5 to 8pm.
