John Francis Trifero, a retired master finish- carpenter passed away suddenly on June 24, 2015 in Ashland, MA at the age of 65. John is survived by his Mother Jean Trifero of Nantucket Massachusetts; his son Eric Trifero, Eric's girlfriend Addie Qualey along with their two children George and Grace Trifero of Limington Maine, his 5 siblings Rick Trifero of Paxton, MA, Kathy Trifero of Middleton, RI, William Trifero of Holliston, MA, Ellen Trifero of Nantucket, MA and Beth Trifero Clark of Northbridge, MA and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father John L. Trifero and his sister Laurie Gail. John was born in Brookline Massachusetts on July 14, 1949 to John & Jean Trifero. He graduated from Natick High in 1967. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force 1967 where he served for 4 years, 2 of which in the Vietnam Conflict. Upon returning home he relocated to Florida where he spent many years enjoying the warm sunny days and attended the college majoring in Ornithology. He then returned to Massachusetts to be closer to his son Eric. Finally residing in Ashland for the past 15 years. Over the years he perfected the art of furniture making which he did while being a finish union carpenter until he retired just a few years ago. In his younger days he loved to fish. He enjoyed watching the birds in his back yard and loved listening music. He would call his Mother regularly and they would talk for quite a bit about their days. He was a caring and loving father, brother and son. He was proud of his son Eric and was quite smitten by his two grandchildren. You could hear the pride and joy in his voice when he would talk about them. A memorial service will be held on July 14th, 2015 from 4-6pm at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests a donation be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society.
