John A. Pierce 80 years of Medway, formerly of Framingham passed away in Milford,October 9th after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Tillie (Leland) Pierce. Born in Framingham he was the son of the late Franklin and Althea (Spredbury) Pierce. He had lived in Medway since 1990. He owned and operated the Pierce Cleaning Service in the Framingham area for over 25 years retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America Troop # 21 in Saxonville. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10313 in Saxonville. Besides his wife he leaves five sons; John A. Pierce Jr. of West Virginia, Kenneth Hitt of Natick, David Pierce of Colorado, Frank Pierce of Hopedale, and Paul Pierce of Framingham. Two step sons: James Choiniere of Medway, and Ronald Choiniere of Woonsocket, RI. Three step daughters: Sharon Choiniere of Newport,VT. Claire Bain of Medway, and Donna Marcou of Attleboro. A sister: Elizabeth (Beth) Smith of Upton. 25 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening October 27th in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main St. Ashland at 7:00pm. There are no calling hours.
